Jambo Julia!
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for sending us this fantastic question! I am so glad that you decided to stop by and make us a part of your planning process, and I am thrilled to be helping you today. After staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge myself, I can safely say that it is one of my favourite Disney Resort hotels. With all its amenities, offerings and incredible theming, there's no better place for animal lovers!
As a Disney Vacation Club resort,
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village offers a variety of
services and
amenities. One of these amenities is the Barbecue Grills available for Guests to use. The Barbecue Grills can be found near the tennis courts on the south side of the Resort, which is closest to the Jambo House. Since Disney Resort hotels tend to be quite big, I would recommend picking up a map upon checking in at the front desk or downloading the My Disney Experience mobile app, which has a digital map you can use. Grilling tools are available at the
Community Hall, located near the lobby on the Southside. The grills operate on a first-come, first-serve basis, so I suggest planning your cooking time or using the grills before dinner time! Kidani Village rooms also have fridges and various kitchen amenities, so you should be able to store and reheat your food.
Now, Julia, I thought I would share some of my must-dos from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The restaurant
Sanaa, located in Kidani Village, is a famous destination within the Disney community. Indeed, the
Indian-style Bread Service is delicious, and the Samosas are perfect for spice lovers. Speaking of food, the souvenir shop "
Johari Treasures," which you can find in the lobby, has Disney merchandise and potential travelling essentials. You can also find various food items and beverages in the fridges and my favourite dessert: Zebra Domes! Since the Kahlua liquor used in these delicious treats is cooked, they were my favourite desserts as a child, making the perfect Disney breakfast!
I hope this was helpful, Julia, and that you and your Ohana will have the best day ever on your next safari to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please don't hesitate to reach back out. Harambe means teamwork in Swahili, and we are always ready to help!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
