Hello, Michelle!
Welcome to planDisney. I am so happy that you sent us your question! I have an upcoming stay planned at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I cannot wait! Being able to view zebras, giraffes, and other animals right from my resort is such a special experience.
I often visit family during our Walt Disney World Resort vacations, and I have invited them to spend an afternoon with us at our resort. Visitors driving to the resort need to check in with a Cast Member at the Resort Security Station upon arrival. They will need to provide your name and possibly your hotel confirmation number to the Cast Member. My family members have not had any issues with this process, but keep in mind that visitor rules can change at any time.
Your friends are welcome to explore the resort with you and dine in one of the restaurants. I dined at
Sanaa for the first time last year and fell in love with the Indian-style Bread Service. It included nine accompaniments, such as the delicious Roasted Red Pepper Hummus and Mango Chutney. I could eat it every day!
Advanced dining reservations are highly recommended for all table service restaurants at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Resort Guests can make dining reservations up to 60 days in advance for the entire length of their stay (up to 10 nights).
Only registered Guests can officially use the
pools at Disney Resorts Collection hotels. This policy is intended to make sure hotel Guests can access pool amenities. Depending on your occupancy and room configuration, you may be able to add your friends to your room reservation as registered Guests if you want to spend time together at the pool. I suggest speaking with a Cast Member when you arrive at the hotel to discuss your options.
Michelle, I hope you enjoy your stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! It is sure to be a wild experience!
You are the magic!
Jen
