Hello, My family & i will be staying at AKL this year. Ive done tons of research and i know AKL is rather far from all the parks except AK! How easy is it to take a mid-day break? So many people suggest it and we have littles, 6 & 4.

How ya doin', Carmen, and welcome back to planDisney!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite places to call home on a Disney vacation. Jiko-The Cooking Place has become a must-do for all of my friends and family. But the real Disney must-do is my midday nap. I'm happy to tell you how to help your littles stay well rested.

So it's true that Animal Kingdom Lodge is a bit out of the way from the parks, but getting that midday break is still as simple as hopping on Disney bus transportation. When traveling with little adventurers, I highly recommend taking advantage of both Early Theme Park Entry at each theme park and Lightning Lane Multi Pass. You'll be able to knock out so many attractions while waiting in minimal lines and be ready to leave the parks by the time the sun is high in the sky. Hop back on that Disney bus for a little snooze in your room or a dip in the Uzima Springs Pool. Once everybody's refreshed, head back out and enjoy the rest of your day!

Pro-tip: For the days when you want to stay out a bit longer, a stroller nap is worth its weight in pixie dust at those ages. At 5 and 6 years old, my goddaughter used to take a healthy trip to dreamland while I sat inhaling a DOLE Whip that I didn't have to share.

Carmen, I hope you have a magical and restful vacation. If you have any other questions, come back to see us!

    Happy planning!
    Taylor
