Mom and daughter on Expedition Everest; Animal Kingdom

    My family and I are staying at AKL 12-13 to 12-18, am considering changing to POLY. I have DD 2 and DS 5, we will be spending 1/2 of our time at MK and will need to go back for a nap each day. POLY is in budget, should we change?

    Hi, Dave!   While the Animal Kingdom Lodge is fabulous, given the choice, I really prefer the Polynesian.   I like the proximity to the Magic Kingdom, the views from the beach of Cinderella Castle, and the access to the monorail. 

    Naps will be much more convenient for you if you are at the Polynesian, but only when you are coming from Magic Kingdom.   But, since you will be spending so much time at the Magic Kingdom, this will probably work best for you.

    If you decide to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will have a really nice time.  The lobby is gorgeous, there is a nice food court area, and it is very cool to see the animals on the Savannah. 

    My personal preference, however, is the Polynesian!  My kids enjoy digging in the sand and you can also walk over to the Grand Floridian and see their beautiful holiday decorations and giant Gingerbread House.   

    I do suggest that if you want to make this change, do it soon as rooms fill up quickly.   Call (407)W-DISNEY to check on availability.  Whatever you decide, I hope you and your family have a great vacation!
