Our family of 3 would like to stay at a deluxe resort but we have had problems in the past getting our son to sleep when his crib cannot be placed in a secluded location in the room. Any suggestions on which resort room might provide a small alcove? Thx

    Hi Heather!

My kids are the same way---or maybe it's just me, when I can't see them, I feel like we all sleep better!

I've stayed at three deluxe resorts...

The Beach Club would be perfect for "hiding" a portable crib. I stayed there with my 7 month old, so I have some practice there. The entry way to the room is quite long (it has a mini dresser in it) and opens on the left to the split bathroom...so the sinks are almost in the room. This spot is huge! Of course, if you want to get to the bathroom, you'd be stuck! There was also plenty of room on the far side of the bed by the window/balcony. I even put the crib by the window and pulled the curtain around it...that sounds kinda dangerous writing it, but it was fine when I did it! :)

I was only a teenager when I stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge but I remember the entryway into the room was similar to the Beach Club. (ie. big enough for a crib!)

The Contemporary is my most recent Deluxe resort and it was more typical in it's size and shape. There may be bigger and nicer rooms but considering the Contemporary's age, I'd think most of the rooms are going to be more typical.

Of course, your other option is a suite like the Family Suites at the AllStar Music Resort or even the cabins at Fort Wilderness. This would give you and your husband a private room and your son the rest of the room!

If you go to allears.net and click on ACCOMODATIONS you can find a huge amount of pictures of each resort and this should be help you see what the rooms look like.

    Enjoy your vacation!
