    My family and I want to stay at Animal Kingdom in a 1 or 2 bedroom villa, but I've heard that the shuttle to Magic Kingdom takes up to an hour from AK resort. Is this true?

    Hi Megan:

    The Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favorite family resort.

    Disney Buses run on average every 20 minutes from all Disney Resorts. We've found that buses from the AKL run even more frequently and have rarely had to wait a full 20 minutes for the bus. Relatively speaking, at about 10 miles, the AKL is situated further away from the Magic Kingdom than many other Resorts, however, taking account waiting and travel time, it has never taken me an hour to get to the Magic Kingdom from the AKL. At most, I budget 45 minutes to wait for and travel on a Disney bus from AKL to the Magic Kingdom, and I usually arrive ahead of schedule. The worst I've ever heard was it took over an hour for my parents to get from the AKL to Epcot on a Disney bus during the Walt Disney World Marathon that ended in Epcot, but that was a special circumstance and Disney did provide warnings to hotel guests in advance.
