My family and i will be spending one day at Animal Kingdom. What is the best directions to take to get to that parking area? We are staying in Kissimmee. Thank you and cant wait for our trip in May.

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Patti!

You are in for a wild time at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park later this spring. How exciting! Patti, my family and I typically drive ourselves to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. I think you'll be happy to know that Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is very easy to get to. I don't know where you'll be staying in Kissimme so I can't give you specific turn-by-turn details. However, if you put "Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park" into a map app on your smartphone device, you'll be able to get there with ease. I've found that most map apps are very accurate with their turn-by-turn directions to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. While you are driving, you'll also notice that there is plenty of signage directing you where to go. So if you are second-guessing the map app that you are using, go with the signs.

Once you arrive at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park you'll pull up to the parking attendant booths. Standard theme park parking is $25.00 per day. If you'd like to upgrade to a closer spot, preferred parking is anywhere from $45-$50.00 per day. Once you've paid, you'll enter and be directed to your parking spot. After you get out of your car, take note of which aisle and lot you are parked in. The Cast Members working the parking lot area that you are in will also remind you of this. I like to text the group that I am with which lot and aisle number in case I forget or my phone dies.

After you've parked you can take the tram or walk up to the front of the theme park. There you'll go through security and then up to the turnstiles where you'll scan your ticket to enter. I think you'll find that driving to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, parking, and then entering is a pretty smooth and seamless process.

I hope this helps, Patti. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
