Hi, My family has several uncommon allergies particularly garlic and onion in one family member and potato and potato derivatives(potato starch, potato flour, modified food starch, vodka) in another is Disney able to accommodate uncommon allergies?

    Hi Summer!

As the mom to a little one with multiple food allergies, I know how challenging it can be to eat away from home when accommodating allergies. In our experience, the Cast Member and Chefs at Walt Disney World Resort have done a fantastic job accommodating my little one's food allergies and have always worked hard to make sure that my son has safe and tasty meals to enjoy with the rest of our family!

Walt Disney World Resort does a fantastic job accommodating special diets and even has a Special Diets Team to help Guests who are accommodating special diets during their Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Since you are accommodating multiple, uncommon allergies in your family, I recommend that you contact the Special Diets Team directly by emailing them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. They can give you information about how the Chefs and Cast Members can accommodate your specific allergies during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, including recommendations on the best places that will be able to accommodate your family's food allergies during your vacation.

In general, you will find that table service restaurants have larger kitchens and have more options to offer Guests with allergies. So I would recommend that you plan on enjoying table service restaurants during your visit. Be sure to add your allergies to your dining reservations and ask to speak to a Chef so they can ensure you have a safe and tasty meal. Finally, you are welcome to bring outside food with you into the theme parks, provided you don't bring any glass containers, and I like to bring safe snacks and treats for my son.

Let us know if we can provide you additional help as you continue planning your magical trip. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
