My family of seven (three adults, 17, 13, 6, 4) will be at Disney 6/17-6/21. We are staying off property. Any suggestions on itinerary? We have park hopper passes (5 days) and can swim at the resort. I want to make sure the big kids have fun too.

    Hi Amy!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

I have two boys, ages 13 and 8, and both love to visit all of the theme parks.  My oldest son's favorite park is Disney's Animal Kingdom because he loves the thrill ride there - Expedition Everest.  My youngest son loves the Magic Kingdom.  Both also love Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, especially in the summer time.

Assuming you will arrive by  mid-day on the 17th, I suggest the following itinerary:
    • 17 June - Disney's Animal Kingdom
    • 18 June - Magic Kingdom
    • 19 June - Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • 20 June - Epcot
    • 21 June - Return to your favorite park

I would definitely save some time to swim at your resort, but I also suggest considering going to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.  Both are fabulous, but I personally prefer Typhoon Lagoon because it has a lot more shading thanks to its theme.  That extra shading can be very important on a hot and humid Florida day.  You could do a water park in the middle of your trip or on your last day.

I hope this helps!  Our responses are limited in length, but I would be happy to help you more.  Just write back with more questions!
