Hi Alex! Thank you for reaching out to planDisney.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: one of my favorite parts of planning a trip to the
Walt Disney World Resort is planning out all of my advanced dining reservations. Like Chef Remy from
Ratatouille says, "If you are what you eat, then I only want to eat the good stuff." And there is SO much good stuff to eat at the Walt Disney World Resort. From fine dining to quick service restaurants, there are so many unique options. There really is something for everyone!
Magic Kingdom Park has some great family-friendly restaurants with delicious food, great service, and plenty to keep the kids (and adults!) entertained. If you are looking for great value
and an atmosphere that will keep your kids happy, my top pick would be
The Crystal Palace. It's right at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. and you get to dine with some of your favorite
Winnie the Pooh characters! Character meals are a great choice for kids and kids at heart because you get to meet some of your favorite Disney pals without having to wait in line to meet them! Instead, they will come to your table! You can't beat that. Furthermore, it's a great value because it is a buffet which means it's all-you-care-to-enjoy! You can fill up, get a rest from the hustle and bustle, and hang out with Winnie the Pooh! How can you beat that?
Another favorite is
The Plaza Restaurant. It's also on Main Street, U.S.A. and while it doesn't have characters, the food is accessible and reasonably priced. And the milkshakes and sundaes are delicious! Could
that be your kids' dinner? I mean, they're in Disney after all!
No matter what you decide, please ensure you are making your
advanced dining reservations for your entire vacation (up to ten days) 60 days before your arrival date if you're staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel. Otherwise, you'll schedule your dining reservations 60 days in advance of each day you'd like to dine. Reservations for many restaurants book up quickly so you should book them as early as possible!
Also, keep in mind that there are some great
quick-service restaurants at Magic Kingdom Park. The best part? Many of them are available on
mobile order so you can order ahead and when you get to the restaurant, you'll let them know you're there on your
My Disney Experience mobile app, and they'll begin to prepare your order. Once you pick everything up, find a seat, and enjoy. My favorite quick service with plenty of seating options is
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. It's themed after an Old West saloon and your kids will likely enjoy picking out all of the details in this unique environment. And the Mexican-inspired options are usually a crowd-pleaser!
Alex, no matter where you eat, you're bound to eat some of that good stuff Chef Remy was talking about!
The magic (and your stomach) is calling,
Matt
