Welcome aboard, Emileigh! Based on your dates, it appears you are sailing on the
Disney Wonder on one of its first voyages from New Orleans. Following in your footsteps, I will also be cruising on the Disney Wonder in February!
You are smart to already be planning your days ashore and what time to return to the ship to experience all that the Disney Wonder has to offer. And one of the main attractions is definitely the FOOD!
As you have selected
Main Seating instead of Late Seating for your dinner dining rotation, it may influence your return time to the ship. Main Seating is approximately 5:45PM (times vary based on itinerary), so you will need to return to the ship well in advance of the 6:15PM all aboard. Check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to find out exact times and keep in mind that not everyone can be seated precisely at 5:45PM (so there is a cushion there).
But if you have so much fun ashore that you decided to forego the rotational dining, there are so many other dining options available: from
Cabanas to Daisy's De-Lites to Pinocchio's Pizzeria. In fact, sometimes the most memorable cruise experiences are dining more casually and spending time poolside watching movies on the jumbo LED screen (aka Funnel Vision). Fortunately, a 7-night cruise means that if you passed on the Main Seating on your Grand Cayman evening, you would still get to experience all the restaurants in the dining rotation during your cruise.
Plus, did you know that Disney Cruise Line features complimentary 24-Hour Room Service? Fun fact: Even though they are not on the menu, Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars are available. Mmm-now I'm craving one!
I can certainly "sea" why you are eager to stay ashore in Grand Cayman as long as possible as it's one of the most vibrant Caribbean ports.
If exploring Grand Cayman on your own, keep a weather eye on the time while ashore. Alternatively, check out the various
Grand Cayman Port Adventures either online or inquire at the
Port Adventures desk (Deck 3, Midship). One of the main advantages to arranging a Port Adventure with Disney Cruise Line is the assurance that if the excursion runs late, the ship will wait or arrange complimentary transportation to the next port of call. Our Port Adventure to Stingray City on a catamaran was super chill because I wasn't stressed out about getting back to our ship in time.
As you chart your course, send me a message in a bottle with any additional questions. Have a WONDERful cruise!
