Ahoy, Marc Andre!
Welcome back to planDisney! If my compass is pointing in the right direction, it looks like you and your crew will be heading out on the
Disney Dream for a 4-night adventure through the Bahamas. Let’s get those embarkation day logistics squared away so you aren’t trying to channel Hercules while wrestling your luggage and the rental car at the same time!
I think your plan to drop off your luggage at
the cruise terminal before returning your rental car is a smart one. The great news is there is a designated luggage drop-off area just to the right as you enter the parking garage. A friendly porter will be there to help take your bags, leaving you free to return your rental car without having to drag your luggage along for the ride.
One thing to keep in mind as you plan, and once your
Online Check-In window opens, is your Port Arrival Time. The timing is subject to change, but the parking garage generally opens around 10:45 AM. Sometimes porters may begin accepting luggage a little earlier, but that isn’t guaranteed. If you’re assigned an early Port Arrival Time, just keep this in mind as you coordinate your arrival.
Don’t forget to keep all your important carry-on items separate from the luggage you hand over to the porters. They’ll usually remind you to keep your travel documents with you, but I’d also recommend packing important medications, sunscreen, swimsuits and anything else you might need before your luggage arrives at your stateroom. You wouldn’t want to be caught between a rock and a hard place when it’s time to make a splash!
I hope this helps make your Port Everglades arrival feel less like a transportation puzzle and more like the
smooth beginning to your vacation, with the heavy lifting handled before you head off to return the rental car!
Sea ya real soon as summer waves goodbye and autumn magic begins to shine,
Dustin
