    How is a family selected to assist Mickey at the Opening Ceremony with the countdown to opening the MK for the day? We are visiting in May and participating in something like that would be a magical memory that would last a lifetime for my kids.

    Hi Anetra,

    Your trip is almost here and I know you are super excited!  You are right - being chosen as the family to help open the Magic Kingdom is a memory that would last a lifetime. I have never been chosen but some friends of mine just visited Disney World for the first time last month and they were selected.  It was AMAZING for them and I am thrilled that they were selected. Now they understand why I LOVE going to Disney World.

    Each morning a family is randomly selected. I would suggest being there early. It won't guarantee anything but may give you a better chance of catching the eye of the right Cast Member and being selected.
