Our family was scheduled for a multi-gen trip in May 2020. We're finally getting back in May 2022! I had everything scheduled last time and now I'm trying to understand new timelines. When can I make park reservations, dining reservations, etc...?

    Hi Megan!

How wonderful your family could reschedule your trip to Walt Disney World! The more generations, the more fun and magical your vacation will be!

In the last two years, some changes have occurred with Disney reservations. Park reservations are now required, but you no longer need to book attraction FastPasses. For May 2022, you may book your Disney Park Pass Reservations now if you have already purchased tickets. Currently dining reservations are available 60 days in advance, but this could change by the time of your visit.

FastPass+ did not return when Walt Disney World reopened in 2020. A new system, Genie+, will be implemented this fall. Genie+ is a ticket add-on for $15.00 that does not require advance reservations. You will be able to pick the next available time for a Lightning Lane entrance one attraction at a time. The Lightning Lane entrance allows you to bypass the stand-by line like FastPass+ did. For example, you select 9:30 am to board Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. After zipping and dipping on the wildest ride in the wilderness, you may select a return time for another attraction.

Wishing every age in your family a wonderful adventure while visiting Mickey!
