My family of 6 sails for the first time on the Dream August 2 2011. I have 3 teen DD's who are concerned about the voltage on the ship. Do they need an adapter to charge cell phones, Ipod's etc? We are from Canada and have never needed one at the parks.

    Hi, Denis!

You must be ticking down the days until your family leaves on your voyage aboard the Disney Dream! Since you have a family of six (like I do), you're probably in two staterooms or a suite.  Therefore, you'll have plenty of mirrors and sinks for getting ready.  Yet, the outlets are by the mirror/dressing table/desk in the stateroom.  I've never had a problem with the wattage on board a Disney ship.  However, my teen daughter and I have had a serious shortage of plugs. Although adapters aren't necessary, we will definitely bring our power strip the next time we're on board so that we both can curl or straighten our hair simultaneously!

There is a hair dyer provided in the drawer, but I have found ours from home to work better. Also remember that in addition to your need to charge your cell phones, iPods and handheld games, you'll also require a couple of provided outlets for the two wave phones (per stateroom), too. It seems that everything has to be charged at the same time.  It's funny how that works with teenagers!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
