My family is sailing on the Wonder for its first Alaska voyage. The last time we were on the Wonder, the hair dryers were on the wall and not very useful. Are they still this way and if so are there other options than bringing one from home? Thanks!

    Hi, Pam!

Congratulations on booking the beautiful Disney Wonder for its first Alaskan voyage -- you are one lucky duck!

Hair is a big deal to me since mine boasts its own zip code sometimes! My friends and family laugh at how I plan the "hair situation" even when I'm on a cruise. I completely understand about your hair dryer dilemma, and I have a couple of suggestions.

I haven't been on the Disney Wonder lately, but I was on the Disney Dream last week. I did notice that the hair dryers weren't on the wall, but actually in the desk/dressing table area separate from the wall. If they've changed all the staterooms, you can try plugging the hair dryer into various outlets. The one that the wave phone was plugged into seemed to work the best.

Also, in January, I brought my own travel hair dryer which I purchased from Brookstone, and it seemed to work better than the one in the stateroom. Lastly, I have scheduled an appointment at the hair salon for a professional blow dry. I found that it was quite reasonably priced, and the salon can be scheduled once you're on board.

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
