My family and I are sailing on the 8/26 sailing of the Wonder to Alaska. What movies will be playing? Also, my daughters 25th birthday is on august 25th. Recommendations of how we can celebrate on the 26th?

    Ahoy there, Lesley!

Welcome aboard! Those last few days before a cruise are so exciting. Thanks for visiting with your questions!

First, let's talk about movies! Entertainment is subject to change, but I can share the movies that are likely to be playing at the Buena Vista Theater on your cruise:

    • Descendants: The Rise of Red
    • Inside Out 2 - This is one of my new favorite movies!
    • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
    • Disneynature: Tiger
    • Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
    • The Little Mermaid (Live Action) - A good pick for a sea voyage, right?
    • Elemental - Such a gorgeous movie. Loved it.
    • Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
    • The Marvels
    • Wish
    • Peter Pan & Wendy
    • Next Goal Wins
There might be other options, too! Check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App when you board the ship to see the full schedule. Pro tip: take a sweatshirt or jacket to the theater. Sometimes it's chilly!

Now onto the birthday girl! Celebrating a birthday on a cruise is SO much fun. I did it for my 30th and had an absolute blast! You should go to the "My Reservations" section of the Disney Cruise Line website and select the "Special Requests" section to provide details about your daughter's birthday. You can also let your dining team know that you're celebrating at dinner that first night! Be warned, that may result in an extra dessert. Not that it's a bad thing!

It might be fun to surprise your daughter with something from Onboard Gifts for her birthday! My favorite item is the little floating cruise ship wireless speaker, or you could order a cake and celebratory drink. It's the perfect way to start a cruise!

Other options to celebrate your daughter would be an appointment at the spa (pedicures are always my vote) or a special meal at one of the adult-only restaurants on the ship. I celebrated my birthday with brunch at Palo one year and it was delightful! I highly recommend that experience. If you don't already have a dining reservation for Palo you can check with the dining team as soon as you board to see if they have an opening.

I don't think it gets better than a birthday at sea with your family, Lesley! I'm wishing all of you a wonderful celebration and a gorgeous cruise.

    Keep moving forward!

    Amanda
