Hello - our family will be sailing on our first Disney 6-night Western Caribbean cruise on April 23rd-29th and are very excited! We wanted to know when the formal night will be held? Thanks.

Ahoy, Kimberly! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for sailing to us with your question.

How exciting that your very first Disney Cruise is right around the corner! I can't wait for you to be welcomed onboard the Disney Fantasy for an adventure at sea. I'll never forget my family's first Disney Cruise, onboard the same ship. It's going to be amazing!

You can expect that formal night (listed for your sailing as Dress Up attire) will be held on the third night of your cruise. Pirate Night is scheduled for your fourth evening onboard, and another optional Dress Up night is scheduled for your final night onboard. For the remaining evenings, guests are encouraged to wear cruise casual attire at dinner. I hope that information helps as you start to pack your suitcases for your voyage!

If you haven't already, please be sure to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. From home, you can view the character-filled countdown to your sailing, and review your itinerary and plans. Once you are on the ship, the app will be your guide to the daily activities, your dining schedule, restaurant menus, and more. There is also a chat feature within that app that you can use to keep in touch with your sailing crew.

If you have children in your travel party, it's a great idea to swing by the Open Houses for the youth spaces onboard on the first afternoon of your Disney Cruise. They can check out the kid-exclusive areas, meet some sailors their age, and get to know the Crew Members that lead the activities during the secured programming times. Just don't be surprised if you walk away wishing you were a kid again!

There are some beautiful adult-exclusive areas onboard the Disney Fantasy, so you don't have to feel left out. The Quiet Cove is my favorite spot to soak up the sun, read a book, and relax. I also recommend snagging a reservation at the adults-only Palo for my favorite meal of all, brunch. If you'd like to dine at Palo but haven't yet secured a reservation, look on the daily activity schedule on the first day of your cruise for a time to make dining requests and reservations in person. This usually opens around 1:00 p.m. and I've had good luck making reservations during this time.

Kimberly, I hope you find my tips helpful and I wish you a wonderful Disney Cruise! Enjoy making those memories that will last a lifetime!

    Bon Voyage,

    Adrianna
