Welcome to planDisney, Deborah!
My family's first
European Disney Cruise sailed out of Dover. I fell in love with the seaside towns, beautiful landscapes, and rich history. I hope you feel the same after exploring the countryside on your British Isles Cruise.
I think it’s always a good idea to arrive a few days early to acclimate to the time change. I spoke with a reservation agent who said that, at this time, Disney doesn’t have a recommended hotel in
Southampton. Some Guests like to join sailing groups on social media. You could see where your fellow passengers plan to stay if you're part of such a group. Another option is to stay in London and take the train to Southampton on embarkation day. I actually did this when we sailed from Dover. It was easy to reserve our tickets online, and we arrived on time. There are frequent trains from London to Southampton Central Station. The London Waterloo high-speed train operated by Southwestern Railway runs every 30 minutes, with a journey time of around 75 minutes.
I hope this information helps point your compass in the right direction. I recommend downloading the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before you leave home for the most up-to-date port information. Once on board, you’ll receive valuable information about your scheduled Disney Cruise Line excursions in the app messaging center. To save time at check-in, I suggest having a picture of everyone’s passport saved to your phone. Before each excursion, crew members checked to make sure we had these pictures before leaving the ship.
Deborah, please let us know if you have any more questions as you finalize your plans. My pals and I are always ready to help!
