My family is sailing to Alaska on the Disney Magic on June 18th. I understand they don’t do Pirates night, but are there other special events or meals that we need to dress up for?

Welcome to planDisney, Kelly! Are you ready to let it go and step into the unknown on this dream Disney Cruise Line itinerary to Alaska? Because the cold never bothered me anyway...and on this sailing, it’s part of the magic!

I have to admit, I’m pretty jealous of your upcoming cruise to Alaska. We just sailed on our first cruise a few weeks ago, and while on board, we secured a Placeholder Reservation with the specific purpose of using it toward an Alaskan cruise in the future. This is definitely a dream vacation, and I cannot wait for you to experience it. It will truly be one of the most unique voyages you take, and a little Frozen fun just sends it right over the glacier…I mean, edge! You might even find yourself wanting to build a snowman as you sail past those breathtaking views.

On your cruise, you can celebrate with all your people worth melting for at the Frozen Deck Party, which should take place on the third evening of your voyage. It’s the perfect chance to embrace your inner Anna, Elsa, or even Olaf and soak in the magic under the open sky. Just note that the entertainment schedule is subject to change, and any updates will be posted in the Daily Activity Schedule on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. So be sure to check once you arrive at the port or on the ship.

While there is typically a formal and semi-formal night during your cruise itinerary, dressing up is optional unless you are visiting Palo, which has a dress code. So whether you choose something elegant or lean fully into your Frozen flair, you'll be ready to step into your power!

If dressing up is your thing, I would highly recommend getting in theme for the Frozen fun. There's just something fun about it, and as a big Frozen fan, I'm going to go all out. In fact, I have my outfit picked out already, and I haven't even booked the cruise yet! Be sure to be on the lookout for character sightings and photo opportunities throughout your cruise. And if you want to preserve those memories for the first time in forever, or you know, just forever, you can look into a Photo Package. They can usually be booked ahead of your cruise for a discount, at least three days before your cruise.

Kelly, I hope your adventure is filled with unforgettable views and magical moments. After all, "water has memory," and this is one journey you’ll carry with you long after you’ve returned home. If you have any other questions, just take the next step, step again, and I’ll be right here to help along the way.

Here's to an amazing journey into the unknown,
    Matt
