My family and I are sailing to Alaska aboard the wonder in July 2012. I was wondering if you know what kind of dress attire we should pack for dinner?

    Hi, Lauren!

On any 7+ night Disney Cruise, there are formal, semi-formal and pirate nights -- which leaves the other three as "cruise casual" evenings at dinner. Cruise casual simply means no shorts, swimwear or tank tops in the main three dining rooms at dinner -- which is easy to do on an Alaskan cruise since those aren't what you typically wear in that climate.

For formal night, my big guys wear a dark suit and simply lose the tie and/or jacket for semi-formal night.  My little boys wear khakis, a sportcoat and tie for formal night and just wear the khakis and a button-down for semi-formal night.  My 14-year-old daughter and I use the "excuse" to dress up for formal night and either wear an evening gown or cocktail dress for formal night and wear a nice dress or pantsuit for semi-formal night.  We definitely like to make our evening clothes do "double duty" since we don't have them on that long, and I bring laundry detergent on board to wash a couple of loads to avoid overpacking, too.

For pirate night, the little guys may wear a pirate costume, but we all try to get into the act with hats, eye-patches and maybe even some face paint. I hope you enjoy your incredible voyage to Alaska aboard the beautiful Disney Wonder. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
