Hi Sarah! That is great that your family is doing the 5K! I think the family events are always so much fun, and really represent what runDisney is all about!
The 16/ minute mile pace requirement is started as soon as the last race participant crosses the starting line. Technically, for safety reasons, the stroller division is supposed to be a walk. Brisk walks and slow trots is what you will see a lot of. It's really all about having fun!
