Hi Corey,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your great question about maximizing your visit to Walt Disney World. I'm happy to help!
Corey I am excited to inform you that
Walt Disney World has a great service called
Rider Switch just for situations like yours. The way that it works is you should first check with the Cast Member at the entrance of the attraction to see if Rider Switch is offered. If so, then one adult will be issued the entitlement and can wait with your 8 year old while the other two in your party go enjoy the attraction. Then when the first two come back, the waiting adult can use the Rider Switch entitlement to enter the attraction without having to use the regular standby queue. Often this will be using the
Lightning Lane entrance. But wait, there's more! The adult who waited alone with the 8 year old the first time doesn't have to go alone to the attraction when it is their turn. Another Guest may go with the person who waited alone. This means that for your family, someone is going to be able to ride twice! We have 4 children in our family, and my kids loved it whenever the youngest couldn't go on an attraction because it meant that one of them could ride it a second time.
I hope this is good news for you and helps you with your vacation plans. Here is a link to a guide for
Planning for Preschool Kids & Little Ones that may be helpful to you as well. If you have any further questions, please come back to
planDisney and visit us again. We are always excited to help you plan your Magical adventure.
See Ya Real Soon,
