    Hi, family of 4 returning in 2017. 1st time stayed at The Wilderness Lodge and LOVED it!!!!! Looking to try something new but still want a quality stay. What are your thoughts on The Caribbean Beach resort?

    Hi Christina!  The Wilderness Lodge a wonderful resort on Walt Disney World property. The ambience emits such a peaceful time and after a day in the crowds of the parks it is nice to come home to that feeling.

    The Caribbean Beach resort is a moderate resort so you must understand you will be dropping down one category from the deluxe, Wilderness Lodge.  My choice for a moderate resort would be the Port Orleans resorts or Old Key West.  These resorts offer great amenities such as restaurants, nice pools, and good location.  They both are located on the water canals that will lead you to Disney Springs and they offer complimentary boat service to that location which is especially nice right now since there is so much road construction going on around it.

    Port Orleans is divided into two sections, French Quarter and Riverside. The French Quarter area is the smaller of the two with the theme of being in New Orleans. Riverside is the larger and they have great rooms that are princess themed or rooms for five persons offering a little more room for sleeping. There is also a wonderful lounge and in the evening there is live entertainment on most nights. Carriage rides go between the two sections and you can rent the fun little water sprites to tour the canals for an hour.

    Old Key West has the largest rooms on property as it was the first DVC property built at Walt Disney World. Guests may reserve one without being a DVC member if any are available at the time of your vacation. Most of the room configurations will offer you a full kitchen giving you a chance to save money and have breakfast in your room and snacks throughout the day. Of course being on vacation I never encourage you to cook.....that is not vacation!

    These resorts will offer you the same quiet atmosphere that the Wilderness Lodge offers. Just remember all Disney resorts will offer their own taste of magic so you won't be disappointed!
