Ahoy Terri!
Thanks for bringing your great question our way! My family sailed onboard the beautiful
Disney Dream last year and I’m happy to help you understand what to expect for your upcoming cruise.
Whether you prefer the extra space for accompanying a child, need accessibility accommodations, or require the privacy for a parent to take a child of the opposite gender to a restroom, family-style bathrooms are always much appreciated when traveling. I confirmed that there are many accessible bathrooms and single-occupancy bathrooms throughout the Disney Dream. Once onboard, please always ask a friendly Crew Member for the nearest and they can direct you with efficiency.
Disney Cruise Line staterooms are cleverly configured for families in the bathrooms, too. Most
staterooms will have a split bathroom, where one room contains a bathtub and shower combination with a sink and the other room has a toilet and a sink. Both allow family members to either help a child or split up for privacy. The exception to this layout is if you selected an accessible stateroom, then you have one large bathroom with space to maneuver mobility devices or provide support to a family member.
I find there is always a restroom nearby on a well-thought-out Disney cruise ship, Terri. You can also easily get back to the privacy and space of your own stateroom as needed; again, you could ask a Crew Member for the most direct path on your first days getting used to the ship’s layout.
These vacations are made with families in mind, and I hope you have an amazing time on your upcoming voyage! Don’t miss the Broadway-style
Beauty and the Beast stage show, beautifully done in the style of the 2017 live action film.
Wishing you a magical sailing,
Amy
