Hi Melissa,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We have started many fun-filled days at
Disney's Hollywood Studios with a delightful breakfast at
Hollywood & Vine. I'm sure your two children are looking forward to seeing some of their favorite characters at the Disney Junior Play 'n Dine breakfast buffet.
Character Dining meals at Walt Disney World Resort are an experience. Whether there is an extensive buffet or a menu to order from, these meals are considered experiences because of the presence of characters. For a meal at Hollywood & Vine, the cost of the character experience is built into the cost. If you want to attend with your family, you will be charged for breakfast. Since there is a great variety of items on the buffet, I do hope you can find something you like.
With breakfast buffets, in particular, I have found I can enjoy a cup of coffee and some fresh fruit at a minimum. I frequently find new breakfast dishes to try. I also get to enjoy watching my kids interact with the characters. My kids are older but it warms my heart to see them smile when Mickey Mouse stops by our table. I would hate to miss out on those moments! As an added benefit, since I'm not as interested in the food I become the official photographer for my family!
While buffets are an easy way to cater to a variety of tastes, you can probably tell that they aren't my favorite. I tend to use buffet meals as a bargaining chip with my family. They happen to enjoy buffets. We will plan one or two buffet meals for my husband, son, and daughter then I get to choose one or two of my favorite meals. I happily plan a buffet meal for them when it means they join me at
Sanaa without complaint. Of course, the incredible bread service at Sanaa might have something to do with that!
Melissa, thank you for visiting us with another great question. I hope you will let us know if we can help you with any other planning questions before your visit.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H.
