Guten tag, Alan! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question.
My family just ate at
Biergarten Restaurant for the first time a few months ago, and I
so relate to your question. My husband loves German food and was so excited to pass through the buffet several times, but the rest of us were really only in it for the pretzel bread and apple strudel. We absolutely loved the theming – it really feels like you’re in a German beer garden – and polka dancing to the oompah band during the show was one of the coolest things we’ve done at Walt Disney World.
Your question intrigued me because of my family’s experience, so I called a Cast Member. The Cast Member I spoke with confirmed that, as long as the non-diners don’t eat even one bite of food, it’s allowed for you to join your husband at the restaurant without being charged. You should leave your reservation as a party of three, because you will be taking up three seats. When you're seated, make sure your server knows that two of you won't be dining so you can avoid any issues when the check arrives.
Enjoy your visit to
Epcot’s Germany Pavilion, Alan. Whether you’re meeting Snow White by her wishing well, checking out the darling miniature train set, wandering through the amazing shops and debating taking home one of the incredibly detailed cuckoo clocks, or munching on some tasty caramel popcorn from Karamell-Küche, I know your family is going to have a super time.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
