Hello, Samantha!
Welcome back to
planDisney, and thanks for asking us another
Disneyland Resort question. Planning a magical family vacation would be quite a pixie-dusted way to welcome your relatives to California!
It sounds like you heard that only California residents can enter the theme parks as of now. As current Californians, your family members are welcome to
purchase tickets and make
theme park reservations to visit Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The person making the reservations for the group should first ensure that their contact information, especially their new home address in California, is up-to-date in their Disney account. When they make the reservation, they will be asked to confirm that they and everyone in their party are currently in-state residents.
Cast Members at the theme park entrance gates may require that Guests present valid identification to show proof of California residency. If they don’t have a new ID card by then, I suggest they bring along the paper copy issued by the DMV and a current utility bill that shows their California home address and matches the name on their form of photo identification.
I hope this answers your question and that your whole family enjoys a practically perfect visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Please stop by again if you have any other planning questions, Samantha.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
