We are a family of 5. My question is how and what can I do to ensure our family has a good vacation but doesn't break the bank. Hubby doesn't like spending money & kiddos are 12,12, & 14.

    Hi Melissa,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so glad that you stopped by with your great question! As a mama to many Mouseketeers and someone who actually loves budgeting, I'd be happy to share a few tips with you.

First, you'll find a Disney Resort hotel for every budget. Each and every one of them is full of Disney magic, and regardless of where you stay, you'll receive the same wonderful benefits like complimentary MagicBands and transportation, plus access to Extra Magic Hours and an early FastPass+ planning window. For a family of five, I'd recommend looking into a Family Suite at Disney's All Star Music Resort or Disney's Art of Animation Resort, and be keep your eye on the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page for any discounts! Once you've found the perfect place to stay, you'll want to think about tickets. You'll find that the cost per day goes down quite significantly the more days you add. A brand new kind of tickets was just announced today, too...a Mid-Day Magic Ticket, which could also help you save some money. The last significant budget item left to figure out is food. While I'm definitely a fan of dining around the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm also thankful that Disney allows Guests to bring their own food and drinks into the theme parks. Packing some snacks and water bottles or even an easy, portable meal can certainly help stretch your Disney dollars.

The great news is that once you're there, you won't need to spend any extra money to have a completely amazing vacation. You'll find magic and fun wherever you look! Go enjoy the attractions, shows, character meet and greets, parades, and fireworks, which are all included with your theme park admission, and take advantage of some of the free things to do, like exploring the various Disney Resort hotels, enjoying a relaxing boat ride, or enjoying the evening entertainment at Disney Springs or Disney's BoardWalk. For souvenirs, my family loves collecting pressed pennies, and those just require some loose change!

Please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your trip, Melissa. I hope that you and your family have a truly magical vacation!
