Hello, Sheila. I always love seeing a fellow North Carolinian stop by planDisney to ask a question. Your trip to the most magical place on earth is coming up pretty quickly, I bet you are getting so excited.
Sheila, my family and I have always loved the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Did you know that the show is actually considered one of the longest, continuously running musicals in American theatre history debuting on June 30th, 1974? Each night the restaurant serves up 900 pounds of fried chicken, 400 pounds of pork ribs, 120 pounds of corn, 400 pounds of potatoes, 30 gallons of baked beans, 15 gallons of strawberries, 12 gallons of heavy whipping cream and countless memories and smiles. The memories made there truly do last a lifetime and that's why I am so heartbroken to tell you that since the reopening of Walt Disney World last summer, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue has not yet returned to us. I do hope that as things are slowly but steadily getting back to normal this show will make a grand entrance back into our lives, hearts and bellies once again.
Until then, you can enjoy some of the tasty food offerings you'd find at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue being served up at
P & J's Southern Takeout back in The Settlement.
On the menu, you'll find that same finger-lickin' good fried chicken, bbq ribs and all the fixins. You can even finish your meal off with some sweet scoops of strawberry shortcake. If you close your eyes and imagine some music, you'll think you are back in the theatre having a knee slappin' good time. What my family has been doing lately is ordering the Ribs & Chicken meal which is a full-slab of bbq ribs with 8-pieces of fried chicken. On top of that, you get to choose 4 different sides and a whole loaf of cornbread. This meal easily feeds my family which is 4 adults and 1 teenager with plenty of leftovers and all of that rings up at only $44.99. It's the best value for your money at Walt Disney World and so delicious.
Sheila, I have my fingers crossed that Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue returns to us very soon. If and when that announcement is made, we will be able to find all of the details over on the
Disney Parks Blog. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Have fun!
