Hi Kimberly, thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
May is such a wonderful time to visit the
Walt Disney World Resort, it's actually my favorite time of year. I can't think of a better way to spend Mother's Day than a day out and about at
Epcot. The
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is my favorite event held at Epcot all year. The park itself transforms into this beautiful masterpiece of vibrant perfectly placed flowers and Disney-themed topiaries. Outdoor Kitchens line the walkways of the World Showcase with alluring smells of festive goodies. It is so much fun.
On the weekends, I always feel like Epcot tends to be a little bit busier than during the weekdays. I think because a lot of the area locals like to come and enjoy all the the food and beverages this park has to offer too. But the good thing about Epcot is it's so spread out. So even when the park is crowded, everyone is a little bit more spaced out than in the other parks. I suggest heading to Epcot early in the morning. If you're there before the park opens, you'll be able to hit up some of the most popular attractions like Soarin' Around The World and Test Track. When you notice the park starting to fill up around lunchtime, head back to your resort for a bite to eat and an afternoon swim. In the evening, when it's cooled down a bit, head back over to Epcot and explore the World Showcase. By then, that afternoon crowd will have subsided a little bit and you'll be able to enjoy the festival even more. Then you can end your day by catching the nighttime firework show. I can't think of a better Mother's Day itinerary.
Hope this helps!
