Our family is planning on visiting Disneyland and California Adventure park from May 17-24, 2022. I know that the park is sometimes closed because of Senior grad night. Can you tell us if that will be the case for that time period, or any other closures?

Hey howdy hey, Patty! You’ve got a friend in me at planDisney! Your May visit to the Happiest Place on Earth will be here before you know it, so let's get started!

I took a look at the Disney Imagination Campus website, and I found that Disneyland Resort Grad Nite 2022 is returning this year on the following select dates in May and June:

    May 13, 14, 18, 20, 21, 25, 26, 31
    June 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 17

So, it looks like your visit will overlap with Grad Nite on May 18, 20, and 21. Depending on their ticket type, Grads can be in both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park on each of those days, but the specially-ticketed Disneyland Grad Nite Private Party Experience will begin at 9:00 PM at Disney California Adventure Park on those select nights. So, if you’re visiting Disney California Adventure Park on those days, expect for the park to close to regularly-ticketed Guests around 8:00 PM. If you plan to purchase Park Hoppers, I would suggest starting your days at Disney California Adventure Park on the 18, 20, and 21, and ending them at Disneyland Park in order to avoid the earlier closure at Disney California Adventure Park. Or, if you’re opting for a One Park Per Day ticket, I’d select Disneyland Park on those days in order to get a full day in at the park.

I also recommend checking back on the Entertainment Schedule around April 5 – that’s when you should be able to see the Schedule for your arrival day of May 17 (schedules are updated about six weeks in advance). There, you'll find park hours, show times, and any attractions scheduled for refurbishment.

I hope this information helps as you begin planning your epic Disneyland Resort adventures, Patty! Please stop by with any additional planning questions… we’re all EARs!
