Our family is planning to visit WDW in April. We would like to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. Is there a difference between the one at the Animal Kingdom and the one downtown? I understand that the one downtown doesn't take reservations. Suggestions?

    Hi Jacqueline,

The Rainforest Cafe is a great place to have a meal.  My kids LOVE it.  It is actually a chain restaurant. We like to go to a local Rainforest Cafe in New Jersey and "pretend" we are in Orlando evey once in a while!

Both jungle-themed restaurants are very similar, with great gift shops, tropical fish, water falls, giant elephants, monkeys, a tree canopy and "changing weather" entertaining you while you dine.  The menus are identical, and have a huge variety, including a great children's menu.  (You can peak at them by clicking on www.rainforestcafe.com).  I just verified that both the Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney locations accept reservations.  Neither is on the Disney Dining Plan, so you need to contact them directly.  If you are interested, call (407) 827-8500 (Downtown Disney) or (407) 938-9100 (Animal Kingdom).  We've eaten at both, and found the Animal Kingdom location to be less crowded, but both are equally fun!

    Have a wonderful visit!
