Hi there, my family and I are planning to visit in November for the Christmas experience. We are wanting to know if Disneyland usually closes earlier the evening before the official Christmas/Holidays celebration Nov 14th?

    Hello, Madison,

Yes! It's time to "celebrate happy" and celebrate the holidays at the Disneyland Resort. This November, you'll be able to enjoy both the Disneyland Resort 70th anniversary celebration and the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort.

With the beginning of the Holiday season at the Disneyland Resort on November 14, 2025, one might expect the transformation to take quite a bit of time. But the process will actually start to take place some weeks, even several months, before the official start. Usually, Guests may enjoy regular park hours each day leading up to the formal kickoff of the Holiday season.

Preparation for the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort is a months-long process of cataloging, warehousing, designing, preparing, and testing many thousands of items. When it's time to install dècor in the parks, third shift Cast Members work tirelessly through the night to make everything practically perfect in every way. A few weeks before the Holidays begin, Guests may notice snow and ice on Sleeping Beauty Castle in preparation for Wintertime Enchantment. Many of the finishing touches are put in place in the few days leading up to the season. The hard work culminates with the placement of the grand tree in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A. The tree has 2,000 ornaments, over 70,000 lights, and weighs over 12,700 kg! The hard work pays off when select Cast Members may enjoy a private tree lighting experience of their own.

There are also a few attractions that get special Holiday treatment. Of course, many are familiar with how Jack Skellington wrecked the halls of Haunted Mansion Holiday. Mater hosts his Jingle Jamboree and Luigi wishes Joy to the Whirl in Cars Land. My favorite Holiday-themed attraction is "it's a small world" Holiday. A special Christmas detail in an attraction can actually be found year-round. Have you ever seen the classic Disney short animation film "Pluto's Christmas Tree?" Minnie Mouse decided to place select props from the film on permanent display in the queue of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.

Once you have experienced the magic of the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, I'm sure you'll want to take home a few souvenirs to remember the experience. Or you may also choose to create some of your Disneyland Resort-inspired Holiday magic at home.

    Have a magical time, Madison!
