Our family is planning to visit on May 20th. Our only stroller is a (smaller) stroller wagon that can be pushed. I saw that they are not allowed? It is less than the 52” requirements. Will we be turned away?

Hey there, Lisa! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. May is such a great time to visit Walt Disney World. The weather will be sunny and warm, hopefully, you'll schedule in a pool day or two at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

Lisa, stroller wagons no matter the size are no longer permitted in the Walt Disney World Theme Parks or at the ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex. Last year the stroller policy did get updated with this new rule in addition the dimensions of what is allowable. Currently, strollers must be no larger than 31" in width and 52" in length. Many strollers including double stroller do fit into these new parameters.

I would not go out and buy a different stroller just for your Walt Disney World vacation - rent one instead! Each of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks rent strollers each day to Guests. You can rent a stroller for $15 dollars a day or you can get a discounted rate at $13 dollars a day if you rent one for the length of your stay upfront. Once the initial purchase is made, it's actually quite easy and timely to get your stroller each morning. The first day you rent one, you'll be given a receipt and a name tag for the stroller. Each morning you'll just show this receipt to the Cast Member working the stroller rental area at the entrance of each Walt Disney World Theme Park and off you'll go. I actually really like the strollers that are for rent and it's just so convenient. They are made of a hard type of plastic that is easily wiped out in case of spills. The strollers also have a sunshade, safety buckles, cup holders and little baskets to store all your stuff. Gone are the days that I use a stroller at Walt Disney World but I sure do miss some of the convenience factors of having one.

If you do end up renting a stroller at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, do bring something to help you easily identify it throughout the day. The rental strollers do all look the same and occasionally a Cast Member will move them around to tidy up the stroller parking area and it can be hard to spot yours right away. My daughter always loved getting a Mickey balloon so we usually just tied it onto the handlebar for easy spotting. You could also bring a colorful bandanna or ribbon from home and tie it on the stroller somewhere.

I know it is a little inconvenient that you can't bring your stroller from home Lisa but I do think simply renting one while you are there is your best option. If you have any other questions before your trip, I am happy to help

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
