Well, well, well, what have we here, Megan? A question about the Master of Fright himself! On behalf of all the happy haunts here at planDisney, welcome! I’m so delighted to help you with your question about meeting the one and only Jack Skellington.
Your family is visiting at a very unique and exciting time! The calendar shows that
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort ends on October 31, and the official
Holiday season kicks off on November 14, 2025. This means your visit during the first week of November is right in that magical moment when the parks are transforming from spooky season to the most wonderful time of the year!
When it comes to meeting Jack Skellington and his sweetheart, Sally, you can often find them greeting guests in New Orleans Square near the
Pirates of the Caribbean attraction during both Halloween Time and the holidays. Since your visit falls in that changeover week, their appearance schedule can be a little tricky to predict as they help the Cast Members swap out the pumpkins for pine trees. My best advice is to keep a close eye on the
Disneyland mobile app during your visit. You can tap the map icon and select the “Characters" button at the top to see who is out and about and exactly where to find them. I was lucky enough to meet the man, the myth, the legendary Pumpkin King himself, and let me tell you, he's so much taller in person! I'm really hoping your nephew gets to meet him, too!
But whether the Jack Skellington is greeting guests that day or not, I have some exciting news that is sure to make your nephew shout, "What's this?!". He may have an opportunity to see his hero inside the
Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction! This is the spectacular season when Jack Skellington decides to take over Christmas, and since it's scheduled to be running all through your visit, it's the perfect place to spot him.
This attraction is a can't-miss experience during this time of year! Here’s a pro tip: if you purchase
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, I’d recommend booking a return time for Haunted Mansion Holiday early in the day to ensure you get your preferred time. Then, if your nephew loves it so much that he wants to ride it again—and I’m sure he will!—you could hop in the standby queue later for a second spooky adventure. It's the perfect way to catch all those amazing details you might have missed the first time!
Oh, and one more thing! Be sure to tell your nephew to keep his eyes (and nose!) open in the ballroom scene. He won't be able to miss the gigantic, custom-made gingerbread house that sits on the table. And yes, it's made of real gingerbread! The Disneyland culinary team masterfully creates a brand new design every year. The
Disney Parks Blog has a fantastic behind-the-scenes look at how last year’s incredible masterpiece was made if you'd like a sneak peek!
Seeing the park through your nephew's eyes as he experiences all things Jack Skellington is going to be a core memory for your whole family, Megan! I hope your visit is filled with ghoulish delight and festive fun from start to finish.
