Hi, my family is planning to visit during spring break. How does Extra Magic morning hours affect Rise of the Resistance? Do they start giving out boarding passes during extra magic morning hours or do they start when the park opens to all guests/public?

    Hi Jennifer!

Thanks for reaching out to the Moms Panel!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is undoubtedly my new favorite attraction in all of Disney property! My family and I had the pleasure of experiencing the attraction weeks ago, and were quite literally blown away by the attraction. It truly is that awesome!

So at this writing, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios is not available during Extra Magic Hours. The attraction is only available during regular park hours, and joining a Boarding Group is also only available during regular park hours. Further, we had to be on-premises at Hollywood Studios to be able to join a Boarding Group; we were not able to join in our resort room nor on the bus heading into the theme park.

Once our Group Number was called, we had 2 hours from the point our Group was called to make it to the entrance of the attraction, and check in with our MagicBands, something to note when you join a group. They also are clear that joining a group does not necessarily guarantee you will be able to get on the attraction. My guess is the later the group number you are, and the time it takes to get the preceding groups in ahead of you, may lessen the probability for some teams. We were assigned Group Number 105, which we joined at 9AM, however our Group Number was not called until approximately 3PM that same afternoon.

Hope this provides you with the insight you need. May the Force Be With You!
