Hi. My family of 5 is planning to visit Disneyland at the end of July and I’ve had the reservation for awhile now. Do I need to wait to reserve dining until they announce reopening ? Thank you

    Hey Betty!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Summer is just around the corner and one of my favorite times to visit the Happiest Place on Earth!

My family books our yearly summer trip for a stay at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Like you, we stay at the end of July and we have found it to be the best weather for lounging by the pool while our little Mouseketeers swim their little hearts out. The GCH Craftsman Bar is one of our favorite new places and you are welcome to stop by for food and drinks even if you aren’t staying at the hotel.

I like that you're planning ahead with your dining reservations. At this time, they are still not taking dining reservations at the Disneyland Resort. Once they announce an opening date, I would expect those to open up in some sort of capacity. With no new information yet, it's hard to tell what that will look like. The Disney Parks Blog will be the first to let you when that is so make sure you keep in touch with them. If you’re on Instagram, I highly recommend you give them a follow so you don’t miss a beat!

Once those dining reservations do open up I recommend you book some of those harder to get reservations with exceptional food and service. My top three to book are Carnation Cafe, Lamplight Lounge or the Blue Bayou. If you're celebrating something big or want to treat yourself, then you’ll have to try Steakhouse 55 which is my absolute favorite in all of the Disneyland Resort. Do me a favor and make sure you try the Lobster Mac and Cheese!

Well Betty, I hope that we can welcome you at the Disneyland Resort really soon. If you have any other questions please come back again, we’re happy to help.

Remember, always believe in the Magic!
