My family is planning a trip to WDW in December. We will stay with friends for the first half of the trip and Art of Animation for the second half. Can we buy a hotel and park ticket package but have the tickets start a few days before hotel check in?

Hi there, Steven, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you've stopped by with this great question! It sounds like you're getting ready to book an exciting vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I'd love to be helpful.

I attempted to book a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel and Disney Theme Park Ticket package online and modify the dates of the tickets only, and was unable to, so I reached out to a helpful Cast Member who gave me some good information. Disney Theme Park Tickets that are included as part of a vacation package are bound to the same time frame as the rest of the package. If you need your theme park tickets to start earlier than your planned resort stay, it is recommended that you purchase your tickets separately, so they can start exactly when you need them.

I recently had the pleasure of checking out a Family Suite at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, and it was so cool! Did you know that Family Suites offer a living area with a sofa bed and kitchenette, a pull-down table bed, full bathroom, AND a separate bedroom with its own second full bathroom? Those rooms sleep up to six people and offer an incredible amount of thoughtfully-designed space - a game-changer for families like mine who appreciate a little separation when we're tucking everybody in for the night. The immersive theming throughout the hotel made me feel like I was part of the artwork, and the Big Blue Pool is the largest pool in all of Walt Disney World Resort - totally righteous, dude!

Steven, a Disney vacation during the holiday season will be so magical! I've heard that Walt Disney himself loved celebrating the holidays, and in that spirit, Walt Disney World Resort goes all out with decorations and special yuletide celebrations. I recommend looking into Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park, Jollywood Nights at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays for exciting events and fun ways to get into the holiday spirit.

Please stop back by planDisney with any other vacation planning questions you have as you prepare for your visit later this year. You have a friend in me!

    See you real soon!
