Our family is planning a trip to w d w for2009. Looks like it will be December before we can make it.There are 4 of us . We have 2 girls ages 11 and 7. We are wondering about the weather and crowds from dec. 19 thru jan 5. Which week would be better?

    Chris:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

Traditionally, the busiest week of the Christmas season is the week between Christmas and New Year's, so I would rule that one out if "better" to you means less crowds. The week BEFORE Christmas is less crowded, but it is still considered the Holiday Season, and therefore, higher rates, so I would not consider it a better choice economically. So that leaves us with your dates of January 1 - 5 and a return to Value Season and smaller crowds after New Year's Eve.

The weather in December is cool and brisk, but sometimes a bit unpredictable. I would definitely recommend a coat--both a light one and a heavier one., and keep an eye on www.weather.com and the 10-day forecast so you'll be more prepared.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
