My family and I are planning a trip for Sept. 2010. We have two boys 7 and 4. We are not sure what to do. DCL or WDW or maybe even both. For the age of our kids which is the best choice?

    Hi Wes,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  FIrst of all, great choice in your travel month; we absolutely love taking Disney vacations in September because the low crowds and great rates make it a great time for our family to visit.

Personally I don't think you can go wrong with any family vacation, but if I had the choice I would opt for a Disney Cruise.  I would recommend a 4-night voyage to start, it's a great way to "test the waters" to see if cruising is for your family.  Your boys are the perfect age to take full advantage of the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, and there are a lot of fun family activities for you all to participate in together.

What I love most about cruising is the convenience, everything is steps away from your stateroom and readily accessible.  The crew is simply amazing and take the time to personalize their interactions with the guests.  You are treated daily to first-rate entertainment and broadway style productions....yet even with everything they have to offer some of the best times are spent doing absolutely nothing.  It can be as busy or relaxed as you want it to be - without sacrificing the fun or experience!

Adding a visit to Walt Disney World either before or after your cruise is always a great way to take full advantage of a trip to Florida.  There is convenient transportation provided by Disney between their resorts and the port both on embarkation and debarkation days.  There is a fee for this service, so be sure to ask about it when making your cruise reservation.

    Hope this helps!
