Hi Jade! Welcome to planDisney.
Your visit to the Disneyland Resort will be here before you know it, and I know you and your family are getting so excited! It makes my heart happy to know that you're working to create the most magical experience for your sweet nephew, and it's my pleasure to assist.
At this time, all Guests ages 2 and older are required to wear
face coverings at indoor locations; this does include Disneyland transportation and indoor attractions. I understand your nephew's disabilities prevent him from wearing a mask, and my first recommendation is to call and speak with a Disability Services Cast Member at (407) 560-2547. The
Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities webpage is loaded with great information about making your visit comfortable and safe for Guests with disabilities, and I recommend taking a look to see which of these offerings might help your nephew during your visit.
My fellow Panelist and Disneyland local Tiffanie recently helped another Guest with similar worries.
Her answer points out the many fun outdoor attractions that might work for your nephew, as well as outdoor dining options. There are also lots of great outdoor photo spots where you can capture photos of the whole family. I've seen so many great pics from the
Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park; your nephew can stay safely socially distanced from characters but still spot his favorite Avengers and even snap a photo with them in the background.
I haven't met your nephew, so I'm not sure if there's a possibility that he could tolerate a face covering for shorter periods of time.
My fellow Panelists shared their tips for face coverings in this Disney Park Blog article; I hope it's helpful as you prepare for your visit.
Jade, thanks for stopping by with your question. Your pals here at planDisney are here to help if you have any further questions. Enjoy every minute of your "auntie time" with your nephew and with your whole family. I am wishing you all the very best time together at Disneyland Resort next month.
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
