Hi Michelle,
Early November is a wonderful time to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort. The weather is nice and mild with cool nights (don't forget those jackets) and typically the crowd levels are lower since school is in session for most of the country. The crowd level will pick up around the weekend of the Wine and Dine, but not so much that it is unbearable. Many of the participants will be at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Friday, the 8th for packet pick-up and the Health and Fitness Expo. The races take place in the early morning and late evening on the 9th, so during the day, crowds in the parks may pick up a bit.
Caribbean Beach Resort is named as one of the host hotels for this event this year, but there are also other host hotels offered at different price levels, so it isn't like everyone from the race is staying there. One of the benefits of the host hotel is that there is transportation to and from the expo and races, so that is one of the reasons why many people there for the runDisney events choose their host hotel. Most importantly, though, is your comfort level, so please take my considerations into account and do what you feel is best for your family.
Have a magical time and don't forget to visit the
International Food & Wine Festival at Epcot during the beginning of your stay as it ends on November 10th. It is one of my favorite special events at Walt Disney World.
