Hi Rebekah! It is hard to say which of the deluxe resorts is better in my eyes! I think the biggest question when deciding on a resort a person must ask themselves is what is the location and theme. Each resort will have a different theme whether it is animals at the Animal Kingdom Lodge or a national park feel to the Wilderness Lodge or a very old fashioned grand feel at the Grand Floridian. The decision about a favorite theme would be a personal preference since all resorts are done extremely well down to every detail!
Many families decide on a resort for its location. You have three great ones located on the Magic Kingdom monorail system with a short change that allows you to also take the monorail to EPCOT. The three resorts are the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary, and the Polynesian. All have similar amenities. The Wilderness Lodge is not on the monorail but is a short boat ride from the Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary where you can catch the monorail.
Next to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios you will find the Yacht and Beach Club resorts as well as the Boardwalk resort. Families with older children who want to spend a great deal of time at these two parks are drawn to this area since you can walk to both locations.
Animal Kingdom Lodge is near the Animal Kingdom park but you cannot walk between them...must still take a bus to reach the park. It is a very unique and wonderful experience to feel like you are staying on a safari and watching real animals graze below your balcony. For any animal lover this is a special treat!
