Welcome, Mandi, to planDisney, where we happily answer all of your
Disney vacation planning questions!
It’s times like these that I wish I had the
Scarlet Witch’s powers to look through all the possible outcomes and choose the best one. But alas, I have to rely on the tools Disney has given us, which actually turn out to be quite useful. And while some break the rules and become heroes, we don’t have to break the rules at all. If you don’t understand this power, you will!
I may not be able to bend reality, but I
can interpret patterns. And so can you, by using the
ticket calendar right on the Walt Disney World Resort website. Days that are predicted to be more popular are priced higher than days that are not. While subject to change, the highest projected days during that timeframe are May 24 and May 25, and then they drop a few dollars for May 26 and May 27. This makes sense, as most Guests have the weekend and
Memorial Day off from school and work, and then must return home.
If you are planning to go to all four theme parks during those four days, I would recommend
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park on 5/24,
EPCOT on 5/25,
Magic Kingdom Park on either 5/26 or 5/27, and then
Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the other of those two days.
Now let me show you how I’m looking at all the variables before making a move, even without a mysterious spell book like the Darkhold. You see, it’s actually not chaos magic at all. Magic Kingdom Park is typically the most popular park, so it makes sense to visit on one of the two days that are projected to see slightly lighter attendance. In general, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a smaller footprint and is home to many guest-favorite attractions, so visiting on a day expected to be a bit less busy is usually a smart choice. Since Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park does not typically draw the same level of attendance and is pretty spread out, planning it for one of the more popular projected days can work out beautifully. And EPCOT has a huge footprint, so even on higher-attendance days, there are plenty of areas that feel relaxed, and there are so many things to enjoy, even when attraction wait times stretch a little longer. The future looks a lot clearer when you study it first.
Mandi, while I can't bend reality to my liking, I hope I've helped you shape your plans to
your liking. And remember, getting to the parks early, taking a break midday, and getting back at it in the evening are usually foolproof ways to pack a lot of magic into your theme park days. No chaos necessary.
Please reach out again with any other questions. I’m always happy to help you choose the most magical timeline.
You don't need anyone to tell you who you are,
Matt
