Hi Sarah,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question.
We’ve often done a “split stay” during our visits to Walt Disney World Resort, because it means that we get to stay in two different Walt Disney World Resort hotels, all in the same vacation! I can assure you that it’s as easy as making another Walt Disney World Resort reservation… Because, in fact, that’s all you need to do! The only difference would be that it would probably be more cost effective for you to skip buying
Theme Park Tickets for your second stay and just ensure that the tickets that you purchased for the first part of your visit will cover your entire vacation.
As for your luggage, when you and your family are checking out of the first Resort, simply bring it to Bell Services and tell them where you’ll be staying next. They’ll automagically send your luggage to the next Resort, which means that you’re free to spend the day enjoying your vacation, instead of hauling your luggage from place to place!
One small caveat, however: sometimes it can take a fair bit of time for your things to get to your next Resort. Make sure to bring all essentials with you or, if you’re really worried, take a cab from your first Resort to your second one, along with all of your luggage, and then store it at Bell Services before you head back out for the day.
Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
