    My family is planning a trip to DW around Thanksgiving 2019. They are huge Star Wars fans. Will Galaxy's Edge be open by then and how soon can I book my trip? Will the Star Wars resort be open then?

    Hi Kate and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

    It sounds like your family is just as excited as I am for all of the new Star Wars offerings at the Walt Disney World Resort! I also think Thanksgiving would be fabulous at Walt Disney World. How wonderful to spend the holiday with family and not have to do all of the cooking and cleaning. Package rates for Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have already been released for 2019 so you can book when you are ready. 

    As much as I wish I could use the force to find information on opening dates, my Jedi skills just aren't that developed. They have not announced an opening date for the Star Wars-inspired Resort Hotel at Walt Disney World Resort. They have announced that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios is expected to open in Late Fall 2019. I believe they are working hard to open Galaxy's Edge in 2019 but it's important to remember the last day of fall is December 20. 

    Disney Parks Blog does a wonderful job of keeping us all updated with the latest news from Disney Parks so I would keep an eye on them for specific opening dates. The Blog even has a dedicated page for all the latest Star Wars at Disney Parks news.
