My family and I are planning a trip to DL in January.I have severe issues with my back (not officially handicapped) making it hard to walk for long periods of time. What type of disability proof do you require to be qualified to rent a motorized scooter?

Hello, Tammy! I hope you are excited about your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!

Disneyland Resort’s ECV and wheelchair rental service is wonderful, something my family has used in the past with great success. All wheelchairs and ECVs are first-come, first-serve; therefore, I recommend arriving at the resort as soon as possible to increase your odds of securing one. Note: to rent the wheelchair or ECV, you do not need to provide proof of a physical disability.

Before arriving at the resort, I recommend you review the ambulatory requirements to understand which attractions allow you to board with your ECV or wheelchair and which will require you to walk. You can also view some of this information directly on the Disneyland Mobile App, a Disneyland Resort resource I recommend to all Guests.

Have a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth, Tammy!

    Best wishes,
