Hello, my family and I are planning a trip to Disney for my son's 6th birthday on January 31st. Would I be able to have some type of small party for him?

    Hi Timothy:

There is no better place to celebrate a birthday or plan a special vacation than at Walt Disney World.  Make sure you stop by Guest Services at any of the theme parks and pick up a birthday button for your son.  Many cast members will go out of their way to greet him with a kind gesture to make the day more memorable.  While just being at Disney World is a special place to celebrate a birthday, below are some suggestions to help make the birthday more of a party:

    • I strongly suggest planning a special character meal, like at Chef Mickeys, where your son can meet his favorite characters in a party atmosphere.
    • Contact the Dream Makers at Disney Floral and Gifts at (407) WDW-GIFT or (407) 939-4438. If you are staying on property, they can help create a personalized in-room celebration.
    • Many Disney restaurants carry a "Celebrate Today" cake in chocolate or vanilla that can serve up to five.  Simply order the cake when you check in at the restaurant front podium.  Prices are subject to change, but the cake generally costs about $21.00.  If you would like to order a larger customized cake, call the cake hotline in advance at 407-827-2253.  Prices will vary depending on size and customization.
    • If you are staying on property, let the Cast Members know at check-in that it's your son's birthday. It's possible the front desk may be able to help arrange some Disney magic.

Enjoy the wonderful vacation and this big milestone.
