Hello! My family is planning a trip to Disney in March 2013. We are staying at Art of Animation. We are driving from Texas. I want to know is it better to drive to the parks in our own vehicle or ride Disney transportation? Thanks

    Hi, Mechelle!

Having your own car on property when you head to Walt Disney World is a wonderful convenience, however, some folks simply prefer to park their vehicles and leave the driving to Disney once they settle in.

There are some occasions where I'd say that having your own car is perfect (such as if you have very early breakfast reservations and are afraid that Resort Transportation may not be available of if your Resort Bus will be stopping at a water park before heading to your park of choice) but most of the time, we prefer to simply rely on Resort Transportation to drop us off as close to the park entrances as possible. We simply don't want to deal with traffic, directions, parking and shuttle services from parking lots. We also love meeting other Guests and chatting with them about their plans for the day or night (okay...and I can't help but offer tips, too...it's an occupational hazard.)

However, all roads are clearly marked, so if you do decide to drive yourselves to the parks, you'll have no trouble doing so. If you get to the parks very early, you'll be able to park closer to the entrance, of course, as well.

Simply put, there are fans on either side of the fence on this question, so I say go with your gut and revisit that decision after your first round-trip journey to and from a park. You can always adjust your choice for the next day, if need be.

Send more questions as you think of them, Mechelle; we love to help!
